BGIS currently provides facilities management services for the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Through routine maintenance, BGIS identified the need to upgrade the existing chillers – which were installed circa 1999 when the site was redeveloped – as part of its lifecycle capital works program. The Projects team’s critical environment experts were engaged as the Principal Contractor to undertake the procurement, engineering design and construction phases of the project. The intent was to replace the two, air-cooled chillers with like-for-like replacements, and the team successfully delivered design and construction of the chillers with minimal disruption to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s operations. This project included two daytime crane lifts from within the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens, to remove the redundant chillers and attenuators.
